How to create a new lesson with AI from the weekly planner

 

Introducing Our New Feature in the Reflective Planning Module: AI One-Click Lesson Generation

We're excited to announce an enhancement in our Reflective Planning Module designed to streamline lesson planning for teachers—AI One-Click Lesson Generation. This new tool simplifies the process by allowing teachers to create a comprehensive lesson with just a single click in the Weekly Planner. This feature aims to save time, reduce planning workload, and empower educators to focus more on engaging with their students. Here’s how to use this innovative tool:

How to Use the AI One-Click Lesson Generation Tool:

1. Navigate to the Weekly Planner

   • Go to Reflective Planning and select the Weekly Planner. Click on the "+Create" button at the upper right corner of the page.

2. Add Your Lesson

• Click on "Add Activity" in the desired cell where you want to add your lesson, and select "Create a New Lesson".

3. Complete the Lesson Fields and Filters

• • Description: Include all essential details for the lesson. You can also copy and paste an existing lesson or activity into this field.
  • Optional: Adaptation Ideas: Add any custom ideas on how you want to adapt the lesson to your classroom's needs. This helps tailor the lesson for specific student interests, learning styles, or backgrounds to ensure maximum engagement.
  • Grade: Choose the appropriate age group. The AI will tailor the lesson according to the selected age, with the framework automatically determined based on your classroom setup.
  • Standards (Measures): Choose the measures for the lesson or leave it unselected to let the AI determine suitable standards.
  • Optional: Create Localized Curriculum: Enable this option for a lesson adapted to your specific geographical location.

4. Click "Generate" and Let AI Work Its Magic

 

Learning Genie will generate the lesson details, including:

• Lesson Title, Standards (Measures), Objective (Targeted Behaviors and Skills)

 

• • Materials and Implementation Steps

You may attach files or upload supporting images and videos from your computer or via URL

 

• • Teaching Tips for Standards: Guidance aligned with educational standards to support skill development.

 

• • Typical Behaviors and Observations Tips: Especially valuable for teachers new to DRDP, these tips help identify which child behaviors align with the standards or measures associated with the activity.

• • Universal Design for Learning: Tips to support learners with IEPs or English Language Learners, promoting inclusive education.

 

• • Culturally Responsive Practices: Advice for culturally inclusive teaching.

• • DLL Vocabulary and Phrases - Provides targeted vocabulary and phrases to support Dual Language Learners (DLLs), enhancing their language development and integration into the lesson. This ensures that language learning is seamlessly incorporated into the activity, benefiting both DLLs and the overall classroom environment.

• • At-Home Activities: Ideas to encourage family involvement and extend learning beyond the classroom.

You can freely edit (add, remove, or update) any detail from the generated lesson to better fit your classroom needs or regenerate the lesson for a different outcome. This feature is designed to be adaptable so that you can fine-tune each lesson to your standards.
